Hello Friends and Family,
Greetings from Redding, CA. Wow what a month! It seems like yesterday I was celebrating New Year and now it is Super Bowl Sunday and the Panthers are in the Super Bowl. I am hoping and believing that this is their year to take home the prize. Speaking of prizes, I am thankful for each one of you who have prayed and supported me in this journey. Each of you are a blessing and I could not do any of this without you.
I have been truly experiencing a season of increase in my life. I have had the opportunity in the last couple of months to paint on stage at the school. It has blessed me to share my art with the students. My first opportunity was on Jan 8th I was given a suddenly and there I found myself paint that day. The Good News is I had a painting on my heart ready to go. It was an incredible experience. Yet humbling also. As I had to get my stuff together quickly and be ready in season with a image to present to the school. I also was given an opportunity to share my journey as an artist with my fellow student artist at our Arts on Stage meeting. It was a great opportunity. Then just a few days ago I was able to paint on stage again. God is really stepping up the pace.
Also my roommates and I celebrated “Birthday week” because there are three of us who had birthdays in the month of January. We decided to have one party and each of us were able to invite ten friends. We had a great time of friends, fellowship, food and fun together. We had people from all over the world there (South Africa, Germany, Canada and Brazil).
I am still working at Sears. I have learned to just go there and be the best me I can be. Treat the customers and my co workers with care and do the work I need to do each day I go there. I am thankful for this job and it has really allowed me to become very familiar with this community and to see the people who live here and know what the needs are in this city. Although it has been many things to me, it is not a job to get rich at. It has helped me gain a great compassion for those who work on minimum wage to survive. We have faced a greater challenge to survive the winter with the cost of heating a home in a wet and rainy winter. I would ask that you join with me in prayerful praying for provision. My job is not paying enough for me to afford to remain at this house after May. I am at a place where I have to say God either you provide a greater amount of provision or I will have to choose to move to a place that is more affordable. Our Landlord is asking us to give her an answer and my only answer now after prayerful consideration is I release this house and choose that if God wants me to remain here He will have to be the God of provision.
I celebrated turning 55. The Lord has given me in many way the understanding that this is not only a year of Increase but also a year of double grace. In Zech 4: 6-7 it says :
So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. 7 ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”
There is a movie I saw before I came here called “Little Boy”. It was a movie about a young boy who had faith to bring his dad home from war. Faith is something that comes through growth. Many of you would say that I am a courageous woman. I agree. Yet having courage is not something we get by not facing fears and overcoming those fears. Faith is a seed that is planted in our heart like a sunflower seed. Let’s say that God gives us one seed (a measure of faith). How does that seed grow? It grows by being planted and watered and exposed to the sun, the elements, bugs, wind, hail and whatever it experiences when growing. If we never plant the seed or we don’t water it and expose it to the sun it will never grow. I have a little story that is an example of this. One of my roommates is from South Africa and her exchange rate on money is 18 rands to $1.00. That is not a good return on money. So I started giving her coins (seed) to give to her mission. I did not have a lot but I gave her $1.00 in change. She then prayed and gave 1 coin to each person that the Lord pointed out to her. Well her $1.00 became $2.00 and she has given out her $3.00 and the people who received the coins saw $5,500 donated to their various accounts from people they did not know. Some of them got their missions trips paid off in full all at once. $1300. Just from a few small coins. Investing in people is alway a blessed thing. Show like in the scripture above the mountain was moved by a small seed of faith. So as you partner with me you are partnering with the world!
I have to say in this season I have been planted in very rich soil and I have been growing. This has been one of the best decisions I have made in my lifetime. I am learning so much about myself and who God has made me to be. I have begun to apply for my next year of school here. I am discovering who God made me to be and the next year is to aide me in equipping me to do it! As always I invite you to partner with my in prayer.
* Missions trip in April, * God’s continued provision, * new housing for this next season, * School for this year finishing well, * School for next year, and * wisdom.
Once again thank you all so much for your love, prayers and support. You have all blessed me beyond measure. Thank you for helping make endless possibilities happen. 🙂
Love and Blessings,
